(Adnkronos) – “Liar, you killed Americans!”. This is what Democratic Representatives Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib shouted at Donald Trump when the president, during his State of the Union address, spoke about the fraud investigation by the Somali community in Minnesota, used by him and his administration as justification for the anti-immigrant operation that for weeks created chaos and terror in Minneapolis, with two American citizens being killed by federal agents while protesting against the anti-immigrant raids.
“You should be ashamed,” said Omar, the Somali-born congresswoman elected in Minneapolis, when Trump said Democrats should “be ashamed,” repeating racist comments towards Somalis. “The Somali pirates who plundered Minnesota remind us that there are large parts of the world where bribes, corruption, and a lack of rule of law are the norm, not exceptions. Importing these cultures through uncontrolled immigration and open borders brings big problems here in the United States,” he stated.
