(Adnkronos) – A drone attack on a market in Nyala, the de facto capital of the Sudanese paramilitary Rapid Support Forces in West Darfur, killed 21 people and injured at least 40 others, according to a medical source and witnesses. A Nyala resident stated that a market in the northern part of the city was hit by a drone yesterday around 8 PM. Another added that the market was frequented by young people, particularly by RSF (Rapid Support Force) fighters.
“In last night’s attack, 21 people died and over 40 were injured,” said a doctor at Nyala hospital, although unable to specify how many were RSF fighters. Meanwhile, the Sudanese paramilitary Rapid Support Forces launched a drone attack against a power plant in the capital, according to an AFP source from the national electricity company.
“RSF militia drones hit the Al-Markhiyat transformation substation, disrupting electricity supply in large areas of Khartoum and Al-Jazira states,” the source stated, after a coordinated RSF drone attack yesterday caused widespread power outages in four states across the country.
