UK, incident at Raf Fairford base: two British citizens indicted

27 Ottobre 2026

(Adnkronos) – Two British citizens have been indicted for national security offenses in connection with last month’s incident at Raf Fairford base, in Gloucestershire county. Mohmed Abdulkarim, 24, and Nouman Essghir, 24, have been formally charged under the National Security Act 2023.

Abdulkarim, a London resident, has been accused of providing assistance to a foreign intelligence service, presumably the Iranian one. Over the past week, SkyNews reports, police have questioned another alleged suspect. Essghir, from London, is accused of violating the entry ban to the area with intentions prejudicial to the United Kingdom.

Counter-terrorism police announced that the two men will appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court today. Essghir was one of two men who were re-arrested last week. The other was released without charge but remains on bail following his initial arrest on October 1. Five other men arrested during the investigation remain on police bail. Three suspicious vans had been stopped near the air base in Gloucestershire on September 27.
