Italy, Saudia Arabia look at strengthening bilateral cooperation, investment

(Adnkronos) – Ways of bolstering cooperation between Italy and Saudi Arabia including over the oil state’s multi-billion dollar Vision 2030 diversification blueprint and a bilateral strategic partnership signed last year were the focus of talks on Thursday between envoy Carlo Baldocci and Saudi deputy finance minister Abdulmuhsen bin Saad Alkhalaf. 

“Amb. Baldocci had a productive meeting with HE the Vice Minister of Finance, Abdulmuhsen bin Saad Alkhalaf, to discuss how to strengthen bilateral collaboration & deepening prospects of shared interest in line w/ Vision 2030 goals & Italy and Saudi Arabia’s strategic partnership,” the embassy wrote on X.  

Italy and Saudi Arabia elevated their bilateral relations to a strategic partnership in a joint declaration signed in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia in January 2025 by premier Giorgia Meloni and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Italy clinched deals worth some 10 billion dollars under the the fortified strategic partnership during Meloni’s three-day visit to the Kingdom.
