(Adnkronos) – Israel was informed late about the agreement between the United States and Iran without being consulted and “did not like it”. The Wall Street Journal writes this, citing mediators and an informed source, according to whom the consultation was limited to a phone call from President Donald Trump to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shortly before the ceasefire announcement last night.
According to sources, Israeli officials were not satisfied with the terms, including the inclusion of Lebanon in the agreement, as Israel considers Iran and Lebanon as two distinct scenarios. And indeed, this morning Netanyahu declared that the agreement does not involve the neighboring country, which Israel has been bombing with unprecedented intensity in recent hours, contradicting a previous statement by Pakistan, which is mediating the talks.
