17 Febbraio 2026

(Adnkronos) – Spain is sending humanitarian aid to Cuba to try and alleviate the conditions of the population “in the face of the tightening embargo” imposed by the United States on the island. This was announced by Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares, specifying that Spanish Cooperation will send “one million euros in essential food and health aid, through the channels of the World Food Programme and the Pan American Health Organization.”

Albares justified sending this aid as necessary “in the face of the tightening embargo on Cuba and to alleviate the needs of the brotherly people.” “Spain is always close to all the brotherly peoples of Latin America, and in this case close to the needs of the brotherly people of Cuba,” concluded the Spanish minister, who made his announcement after meeting with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez in Madrid.
