(Adnkronos) – Copenhagen police have arrested two men suspected of raising funds for Hamas, an activity that Danish authorities consider to be financing terrorism. The capital’s police force announced on its social media accounts that a 28-year-old man was arrested today, while a 59-year-old man was already in custody “on suspicion of financing terrorism”.
The latter – according to the Danish newspaper Politiken – has played a significant role in public debate in the Nordic country for years, but his identity has been kept hidden for security reasons. Both are accused of having raised approximately 760,000 euros through a network of Danish and foreign organizations, according to Tv2.
