(Adnkronos) – The Democratic governor of California, Gavin Newsom, reiterated his intention to sue President Donald Trump for the decision to send the National Guard into the state without local consent. Newsom called the measure “illegal, immoral and unconstitutional” and confirmed that the state will officially confirm a lawsuit today.
In a post published on X, the governor accused Trump of having “fanned the flames and illegally federalized the National Guard” through the presidential memorandum signed last Saturday. “The order is not just about California. It will allow him to intervene in any state. We will take him to court,” Newsom wrote.
