(Adnkronos) – The United States has again vetoed a resolution at the United Nations Security Council calling for an “immediate, unconditional and permanent” ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The other 14 members of the Council voted in favor.
The draft resolution, defined by Algeria, Denmark, Greece, Guyana, Pakistan, Panama, South Korea, Sierra Leone, Slovenia and Somalia, also defined the situation in Gaza as “catastrophic” and urged the “immediate and unconditional lifting of all restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid and its safe and unhindered distribution, including by the UN and its humanitarian partners”. It is the fifth US veto of a draft resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
