(Adnkronos) – Taiwanese authorities have decided to send forces after China announced “live fire” drills off the coast of the island. The announcement was made by the Taipei Ministry of Defense, which condemned the drills as dangerous.
China has deployed 32 aircraft around Taiwan and announced drills in an area about 40 nautical miles off the island’s south coast, the ministry said. Taipei then dispatched naval, air and ground forces to “monitor, alert and respond appropriately.”
