Grandi thanks Iceland for ‘strong support’ to UNHCR

(Adnkronos) – United Nations refugee chief Filippo Grandi on Friday thanked Iceland for its “strong support” to UNHCR after talks with the country’s foreign minister Thorgerdur Katrin Gunnarsdottir. 

“I was very happy and honoured to receive Foreign Minister @thorgkatrin of Iceland and to discuss how to ensure that her government’s strong support to UNHCR is as strategic and useful as possible,” Grandi wrote on X. 

“In these difficult times, it is encouraging to have friends like Iceland.  

“Takk (thanks)!”
