(Adnkronos) – After two days of truce, fighting has resumed in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, triggered by a dawn attack by M23 fighters and their Rwandan allies against Congolese positions in South Kivu province, according to security and local sources.
The fighting resumed near the town of Ihusi, about 70 km from the provincial capital Bukavu and 40 km from its airport, according to security sources, and several local sources reported “heavy gunfire”.
