(Adnkronos) – “It is clear that the clean energy transition is happening and is destined to continue”. This is the view of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, after US President Donald Trump promised in his inaugural address that Washington will make extensive use of the fossil fuels it has in abundance, under the banner of “drill, baby, drill”, and that it intends to export them massively. Von der Leyen has already said she is open to buying more American liquefied natural gas. “Europe will continue on this path – she concludes – we are ready to work with all global actors to accelerate the transition to clean energy”.
