(Adnkronos) – “We encourage leader al-Sharaa to continue his action in favor of inclusiveness and to lead this new political process. This is essential for the prosperity of all of Syria”. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, during a press conference in Damascus, where he met with the de facto leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa.
“I believe it is very important to preserve the unity and integrity of the entire state”, added Tajani, according to whom “the Syrian people have the right to live free and not under a dictatorship and under the threat of terrorism”. The head of the Farnesina then called it “essential that the conditions for a peaceful return of refugees to Syria, who have the right to live in their country of origin, are also established”.
