From today we are starting a new course of political, diplomatic and friendship relations between Italy and Syria. We are ready to support the economic and social recovery of a Mediterranean country rich in history and ties with Italy”. This was stated in a post on X by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, with a photo of the handshake in Damascus with al Sharaa.
