Tokyo, Nov. 20 (Jiji Press)–Improper management of confidential documents related to antiterrorism measures has been found at Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings Inc.’s Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear power plant in central Japan, it was learned Thursday. The Nuclear Regulation Authority held a closed meeting the same day to discuss the matter. According to the NRA, a TEPCO employee authorized to handle classified information removed the documents from where they were stored without following required procedures. The documents were copied and stored at a desk within the company. No information has been leaked outside the company. The Kashiwazaki-Kariwa plant in Niigata Prefecture has been hit with a series of issues related to antiterrorism measures, resulting in the NRA issuing a de facto operation ban on the plant at one point. TEPCO is currently making preparations for restarting a reactor at the plant. END [Copyright The Jiji Press, Ltd.]
