Seoul, Pyongyang launched ballistic missiles, first time since May

(Adnkronos) – Short-range ballistic missiles have been launched by North Korea. This was reported by Seoul’s military, as stated by the South Korean agency Yonhap. The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff announced that it detected launches from the Junghwa area in a northeast direction around 8:10 local time, and that the missiles traveled a trajectory of approximately 350 kilometers. There are no other details.  

It is the first time such an action by Pyongyang has been reported since Lee Jae Myung took office as president in South Korea in June. The last launches of short-range ballistic missiles and cruise missiles by North Korea date back to May. The latest news comes as South Korea awaits Donald Trump’s visit and prepares to host the Apec summit.
