Italy ready to give more humanitarian, medical aid, help with Gaza’s reconstruction

(Adnkronos) – Italy has signalled its readiness supply more humanitarian and medical assistance “immediately” and to help rebuild war-shattered Gaza, foreign minister Tajani said on Monday after world leaders signed attended a ceasefire deal signing ceremony in Egypt and talks on Gaza’s future. 

Italy is willing “to intervene immediately with new humanitarian aid. In terms of healthcare, we are ready to send field hospitals and offer treatment in our hospitals,” Trump told state broadcaster Rai’s ‘Five Minutes’ programme. 

“We are also ready to assist with reconstruction, partly because we unfortunately have experience in this area,” Tajani said, recalling the devastating 2009 earthquake in Italy’s central Abruzzo region, whose epicentre as near the medieval city of L’Aquila. 

“In short, we are ready to do our part,” Tajani said.
