(Adnkronos) – Two planes collided on the runway of LaGuardia Airport in New York. This was announced by the local port authority and Delta Airlines. The incident involved two Endeavor Air jets, a company owned by Delta, and occurred at 9:58 PM yesterday (local time), while one of the aircraft was landing and the other was about to take off, according to a statement from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

One person was transported to the hospital for “non-life-threatening injuries,” the Authority added. Delta reported the injury of a flight attendant. Images shared by US media showed damage to the nose of one of the jets. The port authority stated that operations at LaGuardia Airport, one of the busiest airports in the United States, were not interrupted.

Delta, Endeavor Air’s parent company, stated that it would “cooperate with all relevant authorities to review” safety measures following what it described as “a low-speed collision during taxiing.” Citing preliminary information, Delta stated that the wing of the aircraft taxiing prior to departure for Roanoke, Virginia, came into “contact with the fuselage of the arriving aircraft.” The two jets had a total of 93 passengers and crew members on board, Delta added.
