(Adnkronos) – France will deploy a “massive” security apparatus, with around 80,000 police and gendarmes, 30 helicopters, drones and Centaur armored vehicles, in view of the national mobilization day called for tomorrow by the ‘Block Everything’ (Bloquons tout) movement. This was announced by the French Interior Minister, Bruno Retailleau, stressing that the objective is to prevent any “violent” actions by “organized groups” driven by “hatred towards the police”.
According to the broadcaster Bfmtv, Retailleau expressed concern about a mobilization that promises to be “intense” rather than “mass”, with around 100,000 demonstrators expected. “Fewer participants than expected, but what is lost in mobilization could be gained in intensity,” he said, announcing that “zero tolerance” will be applied to any “violent” actions.
