(Adnkronos) – Spencer Pratt, the former reality show star who, with a program and a thoroughly Trumpian style, had an exploit in the primaries for the election of mayor of Los Angeles, at the end of the long scrutiny came in third in last week’s super primaries, and therefore to challenge Mayor Karen Bass in November there will be another Democrat, the left-wing exponent Nithya Raman, who obtained 28.6% of the votes against the Republican’s 25.8%.
More than primaries, last week’s vote was more like a sort of first round, since the names of all candidates were on the same ballot. Since no one reached 50% – incumbent mayor Bass stopped at 34.3% – a runoff will be held in November between the two candidates who came in first place.
Having become famous with the MTV show “The Hill”, in which he played the role of ‘villain’, the bad guy, Pratt had been praised by Trump as “a great Maga person” and had shown himself to be extremely convinced that he could challenge and defeat the Democratic mayor, whom he contemptuously calls ‘Karen basura’, meaning trash, who in fact suffers from a high disapproval rate – 56% of voters reject Bass’s work, particularly on the issue of the growing number of homeless people – called ‘zombies’ by Pratt who promised to arrest them and hospitalize them in psychiatric hospitals en masse – and the fires that have destroyed tens of thousands of homes of Angelenos, including the Republican candidate himself who last year was one of the VIPs who lost his home in the fires.
