(Adnkronos) – The removal of Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar is “marked by the personal conflict of interest” of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This was stated by Israeli Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara in presenting her conclusions to the High Court of Justice regarding petitions against the government’s decision to fire Bar. Failure to reverse the decision – she warned – “would undermine the ability of future Shin Bet chiefs to operate independently”.
