German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated this during a press conference at the CDU headquarters in Berlin. Merz then expressed his concern about the growing antisemitism in Germany, stating that demonstrations against Jews are held in Berlin and that the federal government will do everything possible to protect them. “The fact that Jewish life is no longer safe in Germany is the heaviest burden of recent years,” he declared.
