(Adnkronos) – The number of detainees who have died in Israeli prisons since October 7, 2023 – and whose identities have been revealed – has risen to 92, of whom 53 were from Gaza. This was announced by the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society, following the death yesterday of Palestinian prisoner Moataz Al-Atrash, 21, who had been detained for almost a year without any formal charges.
The association states that the prisoners died as a result of various crimes and violations, including torture, starvation, medical abuse, sexual violence, and ill-treatment. The fate of many detainees from Gaza is unknown due to enforced disappearances. The Prisoners’ Society concluded, based on testimonies and collected data, that dozens of detainees were executed.
