(Adnkronos) – China supports the peace plan for the future of the Gaza Strip that the Arab countries adopted during the extraordinary summit of the Arab League yesterday in Cairo. This was stated by the spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Minister Lin Jian, who during a press conference said that ”China supports the efforts of Egypt and other Arab countries to promote the continued and effective implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, promote humanitarian relief in Gaza and restore security and stability in the region”.
Therefore, added Lin, ”China also supports the post-war governance plan for Gaza which is recognized by the Palestinian people and has the consensus of the Arab countries”. Quoted by the Global Times, Lin said the post-war government of Gaza should respect the principle of ”Palestinians governing Palestine” and be aligned with the two-state solution. Because, ultimately, it should lead to the ”peaceful coexistence and common development of Palestine and Israel and ensure long-term peace and stability in the Middle East,” Lin said.
