IDF confirms killing of Mushtaha, Hamas commander who had detained several hostages

(Adnkronos) – The Israeli army confirms the killing of Muhammad Bassam Mushtaha, who was struck two weeks ago in the northern Gaza Strip. Muhammad Mushtaha, the IDF reports, held the role of company commander in the Shati’ battalion, belonging to Hamas’s military wing. According to the IDF, he had entered Israeli territory and participated in the October 7 massacre. During the war, he had also taken part in the detention of numerous hostages, including Tsachi Idan, Corporal Noa Marciano, Ziv Berman, Omri Miran, Ori Megidish, Naama Levy, and Matan Angrerst. 

Recently, according to the Israeli army, the Hamas militant had attempted to organize new terrorist attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians. He was therefore eliminated, Tsahal explains, to neutralize the threat.
