(Adnkronos) – The 31-year-old man who was arrested and attacked, armed with two knives, three women in Paris, Porte de Clichy, “made incoherent statements”. This was stated by the Minister of the Interior, Laurent Nunez, updating on the attack that occurred at 11:30 am in Paris. The three women, aged 19, 24, and 36, the minister stressed, “are not in life-threatening condition, but two of them are nevertheless in absolute emergency conditions”. The man was arrested on the spot during an intervention by an off-duty Paris police prefecture officer. The minister, however, urged at this stage to “remain very cautious regarding the motivations for this extremely violent act”.
In the videos published on social media after the attack, the man with shoulder-length hair appears disoriented and, ‘Le Figaro’ reports, seems to state that “it is Allah who commanded me”.
The Paris judicial police are handling the investigation for “aggravated attempted murder”. The anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office is currently observing any developments in the investigation.
