Spain, over 26,000 hectares ablaze north of Madrid, 1,200 people flee

(Adnkronos) – Over 1,200 people have fled a new and vast fire raging north of Madrid, which has already burned more than 26,000 hectares of land, according to firefighters. The fire broke out on Thursday in a mountainous, wooded area near the village of La Mierla, in the Castilla-La Mancha region, about 100 kilometers from the Spanish capital.
