Fire Breaks Out at Japan GSDF’s Camp Asaka

Tokyo, July 20 (Jiji Press)–A fire broke out at Camp Asaka of Japan’s Ground Self-Defense Force on Monday. The fire is believed to have started at the camp’s garbage storage area, according to officials of the GSDF facility. Fire authorities and others are working to confirm details of the situation. Camp Asaka, which straddles municipalities including Tokyo’s Nerima Ward and the city of Asaka in Saitama Prefecture, north of the Japanese capital, hosts the headquarters of both the GSDF’s Ground Component Command and Eastern Army.
