Tokyo, July 8 (Jiji Press)–Asahi Group Holdings Ltd. said Wednesday that it expects to post record consolidated sales and net profit for this year after a recovery from the fallout of last year’s system failure. The Japanese beverage maker said that its sales are estimated to rise 11.2 pct from the previous year to 3.22 trillion yen while net profit is forecast to increase 59.6 pct to 194 billion yen. The company resumed shipments of all products in April after a suspension following the system failure in September. Last year’s sales fell 1.5 pct to 2,894.6 billion yen as those in the fourth quarter were eroded by around 64.5 billion yen because of the impact of the system failure. Net profit dropped 36.7 pct to 121.5 billion yen. Asahi Group, which usually reports its full-year financial results around February, had delayed the release due to the fallout of the system failure.
