India, fire in shopping mall in Lucknow, at least 15 victims

(Adnkronos) – At least 15 people have died in a fire that broke out in a shopping mall in Lucknow, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. According to the latest updates released by the Hindustan Times, another 7 people were injured but are not in critical condition. In total, 22 people were transported to the Kgmu hospital in the city. 

Rescue operations are still underway in the building, although the flames are now extinguished. The state’s Deputy Chief Minister, Brajesh Pathak, called the incident “a serious, very sad accident.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said on X that he was “grieved by the loss of lives in the Lucknow fire. My condolences to the families of the victims.”
