(Adnkronos) – The United Kingdom has ”strongly advised British businesses against conducting economic activities in illegal settlements in the West Bank”. This was stated by the British Foreign Office on its ‘X’ account. In a note, Foreign Minister Yvette Cooper then announced sanctions coordinated with international partners against individuals and entities involved in financing and promoting settler violence in the occupied West Bank. Specifically, the United Kingdom, along with Australia, Canada, France, New Zealand, and Norway, will sanction networks that finance and facilitate settler attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank.

At the same time, Cooper announced, ”the United Kingdom has adopted further measures to support recovery in Gaza, including the allocation of one million pounds (approximately 1,158,000 euros, editor’s note) for humanitarian demining and at least 10 million pounds (approximately 11,583,000 euros, editor’s note) to support the Palestinian Authority in addressing the financial crisis and ensuring the continuity of essential services”.
