New York, May 22 (Jiji Press)–The 2026 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, or NPT, ended Friday without a final document, with talks breaking down for the third consecutive meeting. While participants had engaged in a four-week-long discussion at the U.N. headquarters in New York, they failed to reach a consensus amid differing views over nuclear disarmament. The last time nations came together to adopt a final document, which requires unanimous approval, was at the 2010 NPT review conference, with both the 2015 and 2022 meetings ending without agreement.
