Denmark, collision between two trains north of Copenhagen: “Several injured”

(Adnkronos) – Serious train accident today, Thursday, April 23, in Denmark where two trains collided between Hillerød and Kagerup, about 40 kilometers north of Copenhagen, causing several injuries. Police and rescuers confirmed a toll of several injured. Local media report about ten injured. There is no news on their condition. 

“A serious accident has occurred. There was a collision between two trains,” reads a statement from the local police. “We received the report at 6:30 AM – said Tim Simonsen, spokesman for the emergency services, to Afp agency – It was a head-on collision and there are injured passengers.” “All passengers have been evacuated” from the trains, he specified. 

In Denmark, where train accidents are rare, a collision involving a passenger train in 2019 resulted in eight deaths and 16 injuries. In August last year, one person died due to a collision between a train and an agricultural vehicle.
