Fast Retailing Posts Record 1st-Half Revenue

Tokyo, April 9 (Jiji Press)–Fast Retailing Co., the owner of Uniqlo and other casualwear brands, said Thursday that its consolidated revenue rose 14.8 pct to 2,055.2 billion yen in September-February from a year earlier, hitting a record high for its fiscal first-half period. The Uniqlo brand enjoyed steady sales in Japan while posting double-digit revenue growth in North America and Europe. The Japanese company saw its operating profit surge 31.7 pct to 400.6 billion yen and its net profit jump 19.6 pct to 279.2 billion yen, both first-half record highs.
