(Adnkronos) – Italy’s exports have risen 3,3 percent in 2026 and “if the war ends fairly quickly” can “grow again” this year despite United States tariffs and the widening Middle East conflict sparked by the US and Israel’s attacks on Iran since late February, minister Antonio Tajani said on Wednesday.
“Despite the problems and difficulties, and despite what has happened with the US”, exports have “grown by 3,3 percent,” Tajani told Italy’s main private business association Confindustria at the presentation of a new report.
“My goal is more ambitious, but this figure shows us that, despite these turbulent times, the ‘Italian ship’ is heading in the right direction,” Tajani went on.
“I hope the war will end fairly quickly because “if things go well, I believe exports will be able to grow again this year”.
