(Adnkronos) – “Israel has killed hundreds, thousands of people. I have no doubt that it will pay the price.” This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a message for Eid al-Fitr in which he also referred to the situation in the Middle East, which he described as “in turmoil.” At the end of prayers in the Merkez mosque in the Guneysu district of Turkey’s northern Rize province, Erdogan said that the end of Ramadan and the arrival of Eid should serve as a moment of renewal for the Muslim world.
“We have left behind the holy month of Ramadan, and today we have reached Eid al-Fitr,” he declared, hoping that Eid al-Fitr “will be a means of salvation and renewal for the entire Islamic world” and that the holiday will strengthen brotherhood and unity within Turkey.
