(Adnkronos) – A group of Palestinian scholarship students and Palestinian family members from the Gaza Strip are due to arrive late Thursday at Rome’s Ciampino airport from Jordan aboard two Italian planes, according to a foreign ministry statement.
“Transport from Jordan will be provided by flights operated by the Guardia di Finanza,” said the statement, referring to Italy’s tax police.
“The aircraft have been equipped with the contribution of CRUI (the Conference of Italian Rectors), Italy’s Civil Protection Agency and the European Civil Protection Mechanism,” the statement added.
The Palestinian family members are set to be reunited with relatives already in Italy, the statement said.
