Iran, oil tanker hit off Kuwait, crude oil in sea

(Adnkronos) – An oil tanker was hit by a “large explosion” in waters off Kuwait, causing an oil spill. This was reported by Ukmto, the British maritime security agency, explaining that the affected tanker was anchored 30 nautical miles southeast of Mubarak Al Kabeer port. 

The ship is taking on water, Ukmto specified, while small boats were reported fleeing. The crew is safe and no fire has developed, the agency continued.
