(Adnkronos) – The American aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford, the largest in the world, has entered the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. This is reported by the Times of Israel, citing specialized naval traffic monitoring sites, which also indicate that the destroyer USS Mahan, of the Arleigh Burke class and an integral part of the Battle Group led by the Ford, is transiting through the Strait of Gibraltar.
According to estimates, it will take several more days for the aircraft carrier to reach the Middle East and assume an operational anti-Iranian posture. Last week, US President Donald Trump had ordered the transfer of the Battle Group to the Middle East, while the Administration evaluates the possibility of military action against Iran.
