(Adnkronos) – The foreign ministry and state-backed financial conglomerate Poste Italiane on Thursday inked an accord to help small-to-medium-sized companies strengthen their presence in international markets and boost exports of Italian-made goods.
Foreign minister Antonio Tajani, Poste Italiane’s chief executive Matteo Del Fante and general manager Giuseppe Lasco signed the agreement, which aims to develop synergies in the logistics sector serving SMEs.
The accord is part of the ministry’s exports action plan to reach 700 billion euros worth of high-quality Italian-made goods by 2027. The plan aims to diversify Italian exports, especially to high-growth emerging markets and high potential mature non-EU markets including the US, the UK, Japan and China.
The blueprint also seeks to support exports in traditional markets, especially Germany, and to strengthen the European market and its competitiveness including through free trade agreements offering valuable opportunities to diversify Italian exports.
