Georgia, opposition leader beaten and arrested by police

(Adnkronos) – Georgian opposition leader Nika Gvaramia was beaten and arrested by police in Tbilisi after officers raided the headquarters of his Droa party. The beating and arrest were broadcast by independent television channel Pirveli. 

Without a warrant, police searched the offices of the Droa, Girchi More Freedom and United National Movement (UNM) parties.
