South Korea, death penalty requested for former president Yoon

(Adnkronos) – The special prosecutor has requested the death penalty for former South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol, accused of being the alleged “leader of the insurrection” for attempting to subvert the Constitution by imposing martial law on December 3, 2024. This is reported by the Yonhap agency, according to which Yoon appeared before the Seoul Central District Court for the final hearing of the trial, during which the prosecutor’s conclusions and the final arguments of the defense were presented.
