Tokyo, Jan. 13 (Jiji Press)–Japanese Vice Foreign Minister Takehiro Funakoshi will visit Washington for three days from Thursday to hold talks with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday. The visit is seen as paving the way for Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s first visit to the United States, which is being arranged for March or April. The two leaders are expected to exchange views on the situation in Venezuela, following the recent U.S. attack on the country, as well as developments in China and North Korea.
