Iran: Nobel laureate Narges Mohammadi arrested

(Adnkronos) – Narges Mohammadi, Nobel Peace Prize laureate 2023, has been arrested in Iran. The Hengaw human rights organization announced this, explaining that Mohammadi was arrested in Mashhad, a city in northeastern Iran, and taken to an unknown location. 

Along with her, activists Sepideh Gholian and Pouran Nazemi were arrested. They were participating in a ceremony in memory of human rights lawyer Khosrow Alikordi, whose death sparked outrage among the Iranian public. This was explained by the Narges Mohammadi Foundation.
