Trump, ‘ready for preemptive pardon for administration staff if necessary’

2 Novembre 2026

(Adnkronos) – The President of the United States, Donald Trump, says he is ready to grant preemptive pardons to all those who have worked in his administration, should Democrats proceed with threats to indict them. Trump himself stated this: “I would do it, if necessary. Certainly,” Trump explained to Miranda Devine of the New York Post, during an interview for the ‘Pod Force One’ podcast. When asked if this possibility concerned anyone who had worked for him, the president reiterated: “I would do it. I’ve already done it for January 6th.” On the first day of his return to the White House in 2025, Trump indeed granted pardons to approximately 1,500 defendants involved in the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot.

Trump then referred to former President Joe Biden, who in the final hours of his White House term had granted pardons to Anthony Fauci, General Mark Milley, members and staff of the parliamentary inquiry commission into the January 6 events, as well as some of his family members, including his son Hunter, involved in various legal cases. “That’s what Biden did. He pardoned everyone,” Trump emphasized.
