UK, Scottish police launch investigation into Epstein’s visit to Balmoral with Andrew

30 Ottobre 2026

(Adnkronos) – Scottish police have received “information” and have “launched an investigation” into the period spent by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell at Balmoral, the King’s private estate in Scotland. British media report this. The convicted pedophile, who committed suicide in prison, visited Balmoral in 1999, apparently at the invitation of the then Prince Andrew. An undated photograph from this period appears to show Epstein and Maxwell relaxing in the Glen Beg cottage on the royal estate. Images previously released by the US Department of Justice, however, appear to show Andrew and Epstein during a hunting trip.

The Daily Express reported that the investigations concern allegations of trafficking women to the estate in the Scottish Highlands. A local police spokesperson stated: “We have received information and investigations are ongoing, but we are still at a very early stage. All investigations are based on concrete evidence and prioritize the needs of victims. We will never confirm the details of ongoing investigations and it would be inappropriate to release further comments.”

Located in the Scottish Highlands, Balmoral Castle was privately purchased by Queen Victoria in 1852 as a summer residence and hosts the Royal Family every August. In 2022, it was there that Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96. Last year, King Charles stripped his brother of his prince and duke titles after further details emerged about his friendship with the late sex offender Epstein.
