(Adnkronos) – The bloc led by Yashar party leader, Gadi Eisenkot, is ahead of that of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to two new polls by Channel 12 and Channel 13. However, neither bloc manages to reach a parliamentary majority, for which 61 seats are needed.
A Channel 12 poll predicts 55 seats for Eisenkot’s bloc and 51 for Netanyahu’s, while a Channel 13 poll attributes 52 and 49 seats to the two blocs respectively.
As in a long series of recent polls, both surveys show a majority for Netanyahu’s opponents. However, the refusal to cooperate with Arab parties leaves the bloc led by Eisenkot without the necessary seats to have a majority in the Knesset.
