Trump promises up to $30,000 for public fund fraud reports

(Adnkronos) – Rewards of up to $30,000 for ‘tips’ and reports of fraud by public officials. This is what Donald Trump promises with the new $25 million program, Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program, which has the acronym Whip, meaning whip, which he presents today at the White House together with Vice President JD Vance.

“Every day the president’s task force to eliminate fraud fights abuses against taxpayers, this administration has a zero-tolerance policy towards individuals who steal from Americans,” said White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis. Today, Trump is already presenting a $10,000 award to right-wing influencer Nick Shirley, known for his investigations into alleged public fund fraud, particularly welfare and healthcare funds, including the video, published in December 2025, on childcare centers managed by the Somali community in Minnesota which, according to the White House, led to the launch of a broad investigation with arrests and indictments for fraud.

The investigation was widely used by Trump to justify the controversial campaign of arrests and deportations that was conducted earlier this year in Minnesota, particularly against the Somali community, by ICE and other federal agents, provoking a widespread protest movement by the state’s citizens, two of whom were killed by ICE agents while protesting the arrests.
