(Adnkronos) – Brazil’s Superior Electoral Court has given Meta 24 hours to demonstrate that it guarantees equal treatment on its social networks for the electoral campaigns of outgoing president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and his conservative challenger Flavio Bolsonaro, ahead of the presidential runoff on October 25. Should it fail to do so, the company that owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp risks a fine of one million reais (over 200,000 euros) per day, according to a court document consulted by AFP.
